Emerson String Quartet

Join us for an evening celebrating more than twenty-five years of indispensable musical experiences, with our friends, the Emerson String Quartet. This not-to-be-missed concert is part of the Emerson’s final tour with cellist David Finckel, who will be leaving the quartet after the 2012–13 Season. ArtPower! regulars since 2004, the Emerson represents “an extraordinary fusion of experience and authority” (The Boston Globe), and stands alone in the history of string quartets with an unparalleled list of achievements. Let us experience another high-powered performance by one of America’s most impressive chamber ensembles. Eugene Drucker, violin; Philip Setzer, violin; Lawrence Dutton, viola; David Finckel, cello.

PROGRAM Franz Josef Haydn: String Quartet No. 27 in D major, Op. 20/4, H. 3/34; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: String Quartet No. 20 in D major, “Hoffmeister,” K. 499; Ludwig van Beethoven: String Quartet No. 7 in F major, “Rasumovsky No. 1,” Op. 59/1
